Dress: A|wear | Earrings: Kate Spade | Agenda: Lifeguard Press | Bracelets: ASOS | Shoes: Style Bop
Is this another grab-and-go outfit for Wear to Work Chic Week? You bet it is. Because, let’s face it, when it comes to ironing – who feels like it?
Go bold and wrinkle-free in this refined cobalt sheath dress. Pair it with simple jewelry and accessories. The Kate Spade pearls with rope-edge detailing remind me of these David Yurman beauties with a sweeter price tag. Add some brassy chain stack bangles to create texture in an otherwise traditional look. While you’re on a roll, just pop on a pair of timeless Giuseppe Zanotti camel-toned patent peeptoes. Woah, wait, what’s with the high-priced shoes? Isn’t this RED TAG Couture? Yup, we’re still here. Note to readers: TJ Maxx has been known to carry very high-end shoes at some of their locations. I recently purchased a pair of Giuseppe’s for less than $50 – I was having heart palpitations during the transaction. Don’t deny yourself quality items. Just remember, always buy designer goods on sale. Seriously. Practice delay of gratification, and you’ll thank yourself. Looking for a handbag? You already have a lovely structured mustard tote. It will be fantastic with this outfit.
If you play your cards right, sometime around 5PM you’ll scan that colorful Jonathan Adler agenda and think, I totally aced this work week. With the weekend so close we can all taste it, there’s no longer a need to feel the boardroom blues. Until Monday, that is.
We hope your Friday is lovely and that it leads into a glorious weekend! Does anyone have any exciting plans?
Jacket: AX Paris | Pants: Reiss | Earrings: Wallis | Handbag: Aldo | Shoes: H&M | Reuseable Lunch Bag: Mod Cloth
In today’s segment of Wear to Work Chic, we are showcasing a classic color combination: navy, pale pink, and green. Forget the bee’s knees, you’re going to be the cat’s pajamas. Let’s review the details. A navy peplum jacket looks clean and feminine when paired with pale pink cigarette pants. We’re envisioning a silky cap-sleeved navy and white striped top under the jacket. To accessorize, channel your inner prep and add a kelly green lady-like handbag with those ever-so-endearing bee earrings. Oh, and can we talk about the versatile cognac ballet flats for a minute? Yeah, they’re $12! Chintzy painful shoes are for the birds, but we’d give these a whirl based on looks alone. Dr. Scholl’s shoe inserts are in order, clearly.
This is not a “busy” outfit, which makes it work appropriate. Does anyone get a “Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade met and had a baby” vibe from the mix? Honey, this is fun and effortless sophistication at its best. We have no doubt this ensemble will be a huge buzz around the
hive office. (Sorry, inserting silly bee references into this post is just the right thing to do.)
What do you all think about wearing this look to work? Are you for or against our Lilly-Kate lovechild?
It has been declared Wear to Work Chic Week at Red Tag Couture. We will be posting outfit ideas designed to take you from the sizzling summer heat right on into the “why in the <expletive> is it so cold in here” office. Let’s pay homage to the classic pencil skirt, shall we.
Pencil Skirt: Oasis | T-Shirt: Vera Moda | Necklace: Forever 21 | Lip gloss: Cusp | Travel Mug: Antique Farmhouse | Purse: Zara | Cardigan: Mango| Pumps: Zara
Your work attire should consist of colors and styles you like. 2013 runways were flowing with maxi’s and midi’s, but a pencil skirt is always a fashionable choice. Is coral a hot color this season? Eh, it’s seen better years – but it is still a gorgeous hue. This coral skirt sent our hearts aflutter with affection. I bet you like my pleated detailing and my work appropriate length, says the cheerful coral garment.
The minimalistic feel of a white t-shirt is easily enhanced with a polished layered necklace. It produces an element of sophistication. But wait, there’s more. A multi-strand necklace creates a figure-flattering optical illusion. Elongated torso. Check. Leaner look overall. Check.
With a pop of color from the structured mustard handbag and those timeless nude pumps, this ensemble is perfection in a cubicle. Let’s be realistic, though. Working indoors can give a girl the shivers. We included a summer weight leopard cardigan to glam things up a tad. Let’s hope that’s enough to keep you warm.
Put your irons away, ladies. If hung properly, deciding on a pencil skirt will save you a few extra minutes in the morning. Go ahead, pop a bag of green tea in the adorable “good to go” mug and let the antioxidants do the job. Fasten your seatbelts and put your NARS gloss on, it’s Monday. Wishing you a fabulous work week!
Tell us, would you wear this outfit to the office? Or, would you rather just stay home and play dress up?
