Pull Toy | Stuffed Animal | Shoes (Clockwise 1, 2, 3, 4) | Blankets (a major splurge) & a possibly prettier, less expensive alternative
Hello, there! RTC has been on hiatus for quite some time, but I’m sure all is still well with the internets. I have a major issue with unfinished business–it makes my jaw clench. Big time. I put this post together over a year ago, and I suppose no harm will come out of hitting the publish button today!
If your summer agenda is filled with showering an expecting mom with gifts, consider including a Jellycat stuffed animal in that snazzy gift bag. They’re plush, little baby-buddies that are well worth the price. Every infant I come into contact with gets one! It’s an official rule.
That’s all. I suddenly feel the tension melting away from my jaw.
Carrie Bradshaw didn’t always get things right, but we can probably all agree this is her most insightful quote: “I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well that’s just fabulous.” –SATC
Whether you’re planning to spend Valentine’s Day 2014 on the town with your favorite girlfriends, alone on the couch watching Sex and the City reruns, or dining by candlelight with the one who sends your heart aflutter, don’t forget to give yourself a little extra love today!

Last weekend, while admiring my neatly stacked shorts and carefully hung sleeveless tops, I simply decided that winter is over. Washed my hands of all things frigid. It was empowering. Clearly, I wasn’t alone.
My cousin sends me regular picture messages of her new baby girl. France Baby. Pioneer Baby. Downton Abbey Baby. Yes, we’re a strange family. Anyhow, the other day I got a couple pictures of the baby in her bathing suit and swim cap. Beach Baby. My point? Even the baby is done with winter – she’s only 7 weeks old.
I’m not wild about winter, but I’m pretty sure it’s here to stay. Grrrrrrrrrr. I just growled at a season! Let’s make a pact to look better than good in our fluffy down coats and chic accessories. It should be enough to counterbalance that dry skin we’re all sporting. Late January is an excellent time to stock up on the cold weather essentials in the bargain isle! How cute are those earmuffs?
Is anyone else longing for warm weather?
When it comes to home decor, I believe in a minimalistic approach. Clutter is overwhelming and too many objects/accessories in one space is unappealing and distracting. Less is best in my vision of what at home glam looks like. Let me contradict myself and throw my own rule out the window: When it comes to books, the more, the merrier. They give an unexpected warmth to a room. Hardcover books are ideal. Jackets off – it’s always summer when you’re a book. Coffee table books add vibrancy to a room and create conversation amongst the, erm, less inclined to chat.
This would make a great addition to your Tea Lover’s gift basket.
Classic fashion is always in style.
Ideal for the creative, couture inspired home decorator.
Illustrated architecture – start spreading the facts.
Because, honestly, who doesn’t love Kate?
I say take a one for me, one for you approach if you plan on gifting any of these suggestions. Let’s talk books. Are you a jacket-on or jacket-off kind of reader?

Holy, Pantone! Those fancy color enthusiasts declared Radiant Orchid the 2014 color of the year. An understated, yet opulent selection that will surely look chic in your home or on your hangers. I adore the punchy pink undertones. Mix this color with a dollop of navy and stir in some fresh citron or bright lime. There is something soothing about this hue, as well. Basking in radiant orchid might result in the same calming effects as a day at the spa. And that is never a bad thing.
What do you think about the newest Pantone pick? Are you in?

Holiday decor is so wonderfully over-the-top. And I love that December fashion takes a cue from the twinkling lights and swaths of silver and gold. From now until the end of the year, it’s perfectly acceptable (and encouraged) to bare your beaded skirts at every holiday occasion.
Office party that lasts til midnight? Sequins.
Double-date night in the city? Sequins to the 2nd power.
New Year’s Eve celebration with champagne? Dip yourself in a bath of sequins. Make it rain sparkles! You should be coughing up glitter the next morning. It’s the mark of a really great party.
When the lights dim, get ready for your close-up. You’ll be giving that stagnant Christmas tree in the corner a run for its money. *wink wink*

Hollywood knows what’s up. They save their best and brightest, most Oscar-worthy movies for the beginning of holiday season. What’s better after a hearty fall meal—black bean soup and grilled cheese—than to park your rear in a theater for a solid two hours? I beg you, nothing.
Except maybe a trip to WholeFoods for a bag of dark chocolate covered cherries to smuggle in. (Yeah, have a seat overpriced concession stand. We don’t need you.)
There are two movies I’m really looking forward to seeing next week when I have a little more free time:
1. Catching Fire (The Hunger Games Series) – Out November 22nd
2. The Book Thief – Currently in theaters
I downloaded The Book Thief onto my Kindle after seeing the trailer and it has completely stolen my heart. The writing is breathtaking. Highly recommended if you’re itching for a new read.
What recent movies would you recommend? What are you looking forward to seeing this holiday season?
