What to Wear: Girls’ Night Out + A Bonus Martini Recipe

Hello, work week!  You’ve only just begun.  Sigh.  Want something to look forward to?  Schedule plans for some after work fun. Go ahead, you totally deserve it!

Girls Night Out Outfit Idea

Jacket: H&M |Top: Zara | Jeans: Flannels | Ring: Wallis | Nail polish: Butter London | Earrings: Kate Spade | Clutch: Rare London | Shoes: Zara

Look lovely for cocktails with the girls in this lacy little sleeveless top.  Balance out the sweetness with something a bit edgy.  Going with a faux leather moto jacket is not inappropriate if you choose a simple style.  Too much embellishment leaves a garment looking cheap and cluttered.  For bottoms, denim will do.  Adriano Goldschmied jeans are fabulous and expensive.  There is never a reason to pay full price for denim.  Never.  Never, ever.  AG jeans can be found at TJ Maxx – on sale.

Okay, now for the fun part.  A splash of color from the watermelon pointed-toe pumps and a dash of neon Kate Spade blingage will add the perfect amount of interest to your ensemble.  We are over the moon for the crystal Wallis ring, too.  It actually comes as a set with five other stackable bands.  Ah, the beauty of multi-purpose accessories!  Grab your gorgeous deep blue clutch and you’re ready for girls’ night!  Now, what to drink?

sugared rim glass & lemon martini

You know you’ve always wanted to be a mixologist.  This lemon martini recipe was inspired by our Lemonade with a French Twist post.

3 lemons squeezed
1 cup vodka (Kettle One, perhaps)
Splash of sparkling water
1 lemon sliced for garnish
1/4 sugar to rim the glass

Combine liquid ingredients and give them a shake. Pour over ice. Sip slowly, and share – this recipe makes about 2-3 servings. Drink responsibly, or not at all.  The non alcoholic version is an equally lovely libation for a night with the girls.  It is only Monday, after all!  We hope today is the start of a most wonderful week!
