Work-Chic All Week: Preppy Peplum and Pastel Ankle Pants

Navy and Pink RTC

Jacket: AX Paris | Pants: Reiss | Earrings: Wallis | Handbag: Aldo | Shoes: H&M | Reuseable Lunch Bag: Mod Cloth

In today’s segment of Wear to Work Chic, we are showcasing a classic color combination: navy, pale pink, and green.  Forget the bee’s knees, you’re going to be the cat’s pajamas.  Let’s review the details.  A navy peplum jacket looks clean and feminine when paired with pale pink cigarette pants.  We’re envisioning a silky cap-sleeved navy and white striped top under the jacket.  To accessorize, channel your inner prep and add a kelly green lady-like handbag with those ever-so-endearing bee earrings.  Oh, and can we talk about the versatile cognac ballet flats for a minute?  Yeah, they’re $12!  Chintzy painful shoes are for the birds, but we’d give these a whirl based on looks alone.  Dr. Scholl’s shoe inserts are in order, clearly.

This is not a “busy” outfit, which makes it work appropriate.  Does anyone get a Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade met and had a baby” vibe from the mix?  Honey, this is fun and effortless sophistication at its best.  We have no doubt this ensemble will be a huge buzz around the hive office. (Sorry, inserting silly bee references into this post is just the right thing to do.)

What do you all think about wearing this look to work?  Are you for or against our Lilly-Kate lovechild?

  1. Navy and pale pink make such a pretty combo! I love that top and the shade of those pants! Thank you for your sweet comment on my post today! I’m most definitely obsessed with mint and all shades of turquoise, you should see my closet…and my office for that matter lol!
